Installation

Jinzora is platform independent which means you can install it on all popular operating systems, including Windows, Linux and MacOS. The minimum requirements are simple: A web server with PHP 4.2 or higher is all you need. Since each server handles things it's own way, we're trying to write a specific installation manual for a couple of populair web servers:

Full Web Servers

Full blown web servers that offer enterprise grade performance, features and security. These are the preferred servers for Jinzora but they also require the highest level of experience:

Preconfigured Web Servers

Preconfigured Web Servers are packages containing a web server with embedded PHP and MySQL support.

Everything you need to do is to download and extract the package on your computer. After extracting, you can start your new server without even installing it!

Those packages are ideal for testing and for users who do not know how to install and configure a server manually. But remember most packages are not created for production servers. They might not be suitable for high traffic web sites and are possible less secure than a 'normal' web server. But still, it's a great way to get up and running in minutes!

OpenDevelopment Projects

OpenDevelopment is Jinzora's community effort to create valuable extensions and add-ons. Our comunity members came up with a VMware appliance and a set of Jinzora Installer Scripts for Linux that handle the downloading and installation of Jinzora for you.
